About Photobrook Photography

My names Amanda Brooks and this is my blog. My blog covers my life in Cornwall and my photography. I try not to go anywhere in life without my camera, even if this is only the camera on my mobile phone I am always taking pictures and documenting life, events and news in Cornwall.

My passions include surf photography and spending time at the beach. If i'm not in the water myself then i'm on the shoreline photographing the professionals that can surf a lot better than me. I cover a lot of events including local surf competition, the Fistral Night Surf as well as the famous Boardmasters surf competition.

Surf Photography

As well as the high adrenaline sport of surfing I also love classic cars. In particular Volkswagens, You'll see me at shows across the UK and Europe with my camera creating pretty pictures whilst my boyfriend studies the finer details of their engines and how the cars are built. Check out my 2013 trip to European Bug In at the Chimay race circuit in Belgium.

My professional side of photography has taking me to lots of weddings and celebrated the joining of lots of wonderful couples and I feel privileged to be a part of so many special moments and get to photograph them. You'll often find me blogging away about everything to do with weddings and wedding ideas.
Wedding photography

Another passion of mine that you'll find me writing about on here is my love of travelling and this often combined with my love of Volkswagens and going on road trips in our camper van. Often these trips are local to Devon and Cornwall but our recent road trip to Amsterdam was a particular highlight and I hope that the petrol costs stop rising or road tripping will soon be a thing of the past.
